UCHealth EMS, UCHealth Lifeline, Larimer County Emergency Services, and the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office were all involved in the rescue alongside the PFA.

Telecommunicators used Prepared Assist to pinpoint the exact location and assess the severity of the situation, enabling them to livestream video and guide responders to the scene with greater accuracy. In addition to ground units, a UCHealth Lifeline helicopter was dispatched to provide aerial support and facilitate the transport of the patient.

Upon arrival, PFA crews swiftly deployed extrication tools and winching techniques to stabilize and free the patient from the challenging terrain. The operation was intricate and required meticulous coordination among all agencies involved.

After hours of dedicated effort, the patient was successfully extricated and carefully transported to a waiting helicopter. At 6:35 p.m., the patient was airlifted to receive further medical care, marking the culmination of a complex and intensive rescue mission.

The combined expertise and swift actions of PFA, UCHealth EMS, UCHealth Lifeline, Larimer County Emergency Services, and the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office ensured that the patient received timely and effective care despite the remote and challenging circumstances.

Prepared extends our appreciation to all involved for their exceptional efforts and collaboration in ensuring a positive outcome for the victim.
