For Prepared, 2022 was a year to grow, evolve, and continue on our mission to bring lifesaving technology to every person. We approached that mission, as we continue to do, by seeking to break down barriers to change. We know that powerful technologies are readily available for use in public safety but often remain underutilized.
In 2022, we attacked one of the fundamental barriers to change in public safety: cost. How? Simple: we made of our flagship product, Prepared Live, which provides functionality that is core to our mission, completely free to the 9-1-1 center, ensuring that no community would be forced to be without it due to financial burden. Despite the exciting progress that this has created, we still have a long way to go to achieve our mission...

Entering the new year, our company was partnered with a handful of 9-1-1 centers that protect roughly two million citizens in 10+ states. Our employees numbered just over 10 and Prepared Live, while powerful, remained in its early stages of development.
Today, we’re proud to say that we are partnered with hundreds of 9-1-1 centers that protect over 35 million citizens in 45 states. We raised the second-largest seed funding round in the history of public safety ($9.8M), lead by the best investors in the country, and our employees number over 20. The growth of our product has been immeasurable, as we’ve made countless improvements and added numerous features to help 9-1-1 professionals and field responders save lives.
Thousands of emergencies now run through our software every week, helping public safety professionals save lives in ways they previously couldn’t imagine. For example…
When a free climber was stranded on the side of a mountain, a dispatcher used Prepared Live to help find and rescue them. When a group of boaters accidentally drifted into white water rapids, a dispatcher used Prepared Live to bring clarity to the situation and ensure their safety. When a long-dormant volcano erupted for the first time in 30 years, Prepared Live was on the frontlines of response.
Our story has been featured in TechCrunch, on CBS Colorado, and in Business Insider. We were named a leading startup in two different cities (New Haven and New York) and a startup to watch nationally. We partnered with one of the leading companies in public safety, RapidSOS, to expand our reach and grow our impact. We also partnered with non-profits that focus on female empowerment and addressing mental health issues in the public safety profession.
Despite all of these achievements, we are hungrier than ever and excited for what is to come in 2023. We plan to further expand our reach, grow our impact, and continue driving change in public safety. We understand the importance of the role that we can play in the safety of individuals, families, and communities around the country. Our amazing team approaches that role with focus, passion, and a deep belief in our cause.
We hope that you'll join us on the journey!
